Montetiffi is a very small hamlet where it’s possible to discover a very ancient art that remained the same during the centuries: it’s the “tegliaio”’s art. Tegliaio is the maker of the teglia, a clay rounded-shaped baking pan made and used at least since Middle Ages, but that even nowadays beats the most modern cooking systems. As a matter of fact when you cook a piada (typical kind of bread) on a Montetiffi’s baking pan it take a special taste and smell that render it different from any other one cooked in a modern way. Few kilometres far from the village of Montetiffi it’s possible to find the new keepers of the artisan science guaranteeing the surviving of the not-industrial teglia.
